Divine Intervention Zines is a community-funded zine publishing project spearheaded by Rhu Blue. Our goal is to publish underground/under-represented artists and help them format and print their own works.
We believe that if artists had the opportunity to put their work out into the world, they’d have a better shot at being able to fund their lives through their artwork. We want to create the platform for this work to be expressed. And we want to make zines.
DiZines wants to inspire artists to use their work as an outlet and to never stop creating, growing, and building their vision.
DiZines began by asking three questions:
What if we could give artists a way to present their work that they could use as their own form of advertising?
What if we made those zines free to the public so poor people aren’t excluded from seeing their artwork?
What if we gave people something tangible to hold in their hands AND something to pass around like word of mouth?
The platform only exists with artists, and if those artists can’t afford to make their work, it doesn’t exist. We want to make sure that all creative collaborators feel supported, both creatively and financially.
